Martin's Press edition, in English - 1st U.S. : This book and author was recommended by friends in a Georgette Heyer book club. It is difficult to find authors that can go toe to toe with an author like Heyer, or for that matter, Jane Austen.

Murray succeeds beautifully in her own way with a well drawn cast of characters both good, bad, and in between/5(4). Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Belchamber Scandal at Read honest and unbiased product reviews from our users/5(4).

On the plus side, this is competently written, and I am a fan of Frances Murray's other books (superior HR) - The Heroine's Sister, The Burning Lamp, The Belchamber Scandal, The Dear Colleague.

Frances Murray has 23 books on Goodreads with ratings. Frances Murray’s most popular book is Expectations. The Belchamber Scandal is another of her older works that I quite like. The relationship between the hero and heroine is rather unconventional for its time.

Belchamber, still an independent Littlehampton councillor, is the president of Littlehampton swimming club and a senior figure in its twinning association, bonfire society and .“The Belchamber Scandal” by Frances Murray is a bit of a hidden gem, originally published in the ’s.

The only reason I got it is because I loved another book by the author(“The Heroine’s Sister”) but not many of her books are available on Kindle. THS was lighter and funnier.

The Belchamber Scandal had more of a Jane Eyre vibe to it.
